Rock Star

Ashlyn wants to be a rock star and this is all she talks about. This was so cute. Abby and Ashlyn came out of Abby's room and put on several shows for us. One of the shows were complete with costumes.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my Mom's house. We got in lots of visiting and even stocked up on our tamales. Yes, we made tamales from scratch. I love tamales! I have made them for the past 3 years and keep them in my freezer so we have them through out the year. We did a little shopping, just to get out of the house and to get some sister bonding time away from the kiddo's. We did not get up and go early this year. The years in the past we have gotten up and waited in line at 3am at Kohls. This year the sales were not worth getting up and waiting in the cold. So we went after lunch and I only spent about $20. There was not much that I needed or wanted that was on sale. We also got to watch the Texas Tech game at my sister Amy's house. we had a blast and are now getting ready for Christmas. This year I have done most of my shopping online and I love it! I don't have to wait for Chris to be home and shop on the weekends when it is insane out there. It shows up at my house and the girls never know what is in the box. So awesome! I am almost done with my shopping. Yeah!!!! Things have been so busy, I can't wait for things to slow down!

WAY TO GO TEXAS TECH #2!

We are so proud of our RED RAIDERS! Especially Chris because he is an alumni. They are 10-0 for the first time since 1938 and #2 in the BCS standings. WOW! That is so cool! Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree are the best players right now in college football. We are sad that this is Graham Harrells last year. Hopefully Michael Crabtree will not go pro early. We have 2 games left this season, so keep your fingers crossed maybe can go through the entire season being undefeated. That would be incredible. Look out #1 here comes the Texas Tech Red Raiders! GET YOUR GUNS UP!

Happy 8th Birthday Alexis

Alexis is now 8 years old. She is getting to be such a big girl. She is hard to buy gifts for. She is no longer a little girl and doesn't want toys but she is not a big girl either. We gave her a real camera for her birthday. She is always stealing mine and wanting to take pictures of everything including bugs, flowers and anything else. She had a camera, that was decent and was not a child's camera but it was to slow for her and she wanted something more powerful.

She had a wonderful birthday party. We had her party outside at a community clubhouse. The weather was perfect. The napkins didn't even try to blow off the table. She wanted a pink pirate party with a treasure hunt and pinata. She had a great turnout. Chris made such a cute treasure hunt it was creative with the pirate lingo and rhyming words. At the end of the treasure hunt the kids found the treasure and it was full of pirate must haves, sword, compass, skull-cross bone rings and hooks for their hands. We had a pirate girl pinata that took many turns to break down. Chris finally had to just throw the candy to the ground. We had pirate bandannas, eye patches and everyone started out the party getting their pirate tattoos. I think all the kids had a blast. It was a huge success.

Happy Halloween!

The girls had a blast on Halloween. At first they both wanted to be witches and then Ashy found the kitty costume and that was what she wanted to be. She would tell everyone that she was going to be her sister's per for Halloween. It was so cute. The day started out with me getting them dressed and doing their make-up and then doing their make-up and then doing their make-up. I think they were 2 young to have this much face paint on. They gripped and rubbed it and smeared it almost as soon as I would finish putting it on their face. They sad that it itched and I am sure that it did. But they looked great and I think that both of them were unrecognizable. We first went to a costume contest in the neighborhood and Lexi won 1st place! Yeah Lexi! She one a $50 gift card to ToysRUs. Ashlyn won 2nd place! Yeah Ashy! Ashlyn won a a $25 gift card to ToysRUs. Ashlyn was more excited that she won the cake wake and got to pick out what cake she wanted. She chose strawberry cupcakes. She kept saying "I can't believe that I won that". We finished the night with the church's trunk or treat. The girls got to play a ton of games and got so much candy. After we got home the girls took a bath and still had black eyes from the make-up. It took a couple more baths to get it all off. It was a fun night and the make-up payed off. Alexis said that the make-up was worth all the trouble and even a rash. Alexis has really sensitive skin and the next 2 days she had a very itchy rash.

Ashlyn grocery shopping

When we go the store Ashlyn lays down in the shopping basket and most of the time she falls asleep. That girl can fall asleep anywhere. Well the other day we were at Wal-Mart and I keep putting things into the cart, thinking that she will move out of the way but she doesn't. I had to get a picture of her buried under everything.

Pumpkin T-Shirts

When we got the Family Fun magizine in the mail, the girls loved these shirts and wanted to make them. So here we are in our home made pumkin shirts. The girls had a blast dying them and drawing and painting pumkins on them. Chris did not want anything to do with the shirts. So he didn't get one. LOL

12 Years! WOW!!!

Chris and I just had our 12 year anniversary. I can't believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were getting married and I was moving out of my mother's house. Time goes by so fast. I love my husband more than ever and feel so blessed and lucky to have found my soul
mate and to be sharing my life with someone so special. I feel even more blessed to be so happy and more in love with him today than 12 years ago. Life with Chris has been a huge adventure and I love every minute of it.

This is Chris and I a few months after we got married. Kaylee was a puppy (so cute) and now she is about to turn 12 years old and my heart breaks to think Sassy is no longer with us :(.

This is us the other day 12 years later and our 8 year old daughter is taking our picture.

Doctors Appointment

Both my girls had their yearly check-up yesterday. They didn't like the paper gowns that they had to wear especially Alexis. She kept saying I feel ridiculous. I felt so sorry for them. The both got shots. Alexis only got 2 and the flu mist. Ashlyn got 5 and the flu mist. They were very big about getting them. Them both cried and when the nurse was about to give Ashlyn her other 2 in the other leg she started screaming, I don't want any more shots, I don't want any more. Poor Baby :( It went much better then when Alexis got her 4 year shots. We had the doctor, the nurse, the nurse's aid, mommy and daddy holding her down and she still was a huge hand full. It is all over and as of now they do not need any more vaccinations until they are 11 YEAH!

The pictures were taken with my phone so they are not that great!

Ashlyn's Big Hair Cut!

Ashlyn has always screamed at me when ever I wanted to trim her hair. She would freak out! She said she doesn't want her hair cut she likes it long and it is going to stay that way. Well After Alexis cut so much off of her hair a couple weeks later Ashlyn decided she like it and wanted a big hair cut. She ask me to cut her for several weeks. I was waiting to cut it until after we had her 4 year pictures taken. So the day after we had her pictures taken off went her hair. She looks so adorable and so grown up. I can't believe this child is my baby.We cut about 8 inches off. Her hair was so long it took forever to get all the tangles out. Now it is so easy to brush and it looks so healthy.

The last 2 pictures is Ashy getting ready to go to ballet. When we got to ballet she decided she doesn't want to be there anymore and wouldn't go into class. She cried and screamed and through a huge temper tantrum and I had to carry her out screaming and yelling because she didn't want to go to ballet she wants to go to gymnastics but she doesn't want to go home either. So now that I have bought all the tap and ballet shoes and paid tuition and registration fees she will have nothing to do with ballet and she begged me to put her into ballet for a long time.
